Shaggy, Bounty Killer Lead Out The ‘Doo Run’ Riddim

Veteran record producer Mr. Doo has returned to the music scene with a new riddim project titled the Doo Run, which was released on September 3 on his imprint in collaboration with Grammy Award-winning artist Shaggy.

The ten-track riddim album features songs such as Shaggy & Rayvon’s Drive Me Insane, Bounty Killer & Brian & Tony Gold’s Things You Do, Amber Lee’s I Get Money, Eski’s Steppin Hot, Mezmo Roc One’s Keep On Moving, King Knemisis & Vida’s Baby Baby, Abba Doo’s Prayer, Kevin Lawrence’s Run Runand Disturb’s Bangarang.

Mr. Doo, who has produced hits for several top-notch Reggae and Dancehall acts during the 1980s and 90s, including Gregory Isaacs, Shaggy, Freddy McGregor, Sanchez, Cocoa Tea, and Ninja Man, is confident that his latest project will be a hit.

“The Doo Run rhythm was inspired by Delroy Wilson’s iconic Reggae classic Run Run. It’s an awesome project; all the songs on this rhythm album have the potential to be huge hits. I’m getting great feedback about it from DJs and other music industry insiders,” Mr. Doo said.

“I was on break from the music business for a while but my good friend Shaggy encouraged me to return to the game, and I am pleased that I took his advice. This is our first project, and there are many more to come. I have to big up Shaggy, and everyone else who made this project a reality,” he added.

Mr. Doo, whose real name is Cargill Lawrence was one of top Jamaican producers in the late 1980s – the early 90s. His catalogue includes hits such as Cocoa Tea’s Rikers Island, Ninja Man’s My Weapon, Gregory Isaacs’ Article Don, Frankie Paul’s My Baby, George Nooks’ Badminded People and Bounty Killer’s After All.
